BIRTHDAY VODKA
"Make your birthday unforgettable or forgettable"
Product
"The product offering, the heart of an organization's marketing program, is usually the starting point in creating a marketing mix."(MKTG, Lamb, page 131)
"Birthday Vodka" is a new product that has just been created. It is a new kind of vodka that I wold like to introduce to everybody . I have been working on this product for about three years now. I wanted to create a vodka product that can be for everyone to drink (people over 21), no matter who you are in this world. This drink is made affordable so everyone and anyone can taste the satisfaction of cake flavored vodka.
Our bottle even sets the mood of a birthday. The red bottle topped off with three balloons: yellow, blue, and red, as the bottle cap. Yellow lettering with yellow confetti. How much more fun can the bottle look and make you feel.
The story of "Birthday Vodka" is a very simple one to tell. I was at a friend's birthday party celebrating their birthday. Of corse everyone was drinking at the party. My friend he kept telling people to take birthday drinks with him. I thought to myself "what kind of drink is a birthday drink?" Then I thought that would be real cool to have a specific drink to drink especially on your birthday. Even something that can taste like it's your birthday. Something that taste like a birthday cake would be perfect. I then thought that vodka is a popular drink everyone likes to drink. That's where I got the idea to put two and two together as one. "Birthday Vodka" would make the most outstanding name to name this drink. A special drink that is made especially for your birthday. A drink where you can say take a birthday shot with me. And that is how my creation of a product took off in the making.
When creating this project I had to think what do people want? "People don't know what they want, they only want what they know."(MKTG, Lamb page.10) That's why I chose vodka. Many people like vodka so that means they can be comfortable with my product idea.
Mission Statement
"The way a firm defines it's business mission profoundly affects the firm's long-run resource allocation, profitability and survival."(MKTG, Lamb page 18)
Birthday Vodka mission statement
To make a birthday extravagant to the fullest.
Objective
"Without objectives, there is no basis for measuring the success of marketing plan activities."(MKTG, Lamb page18)
Birthday Vodka objectives
Birthday Vodka's objective is to make your birthday special. To drink up on your birthday. To Liven up a birthday. Make your birthday forgettable or unforgettable.
Place
Birthday vodka will be sold at all liquor stores and where liquor is sold. I want to make easy access for everyone to find and buy.
Price
"Price is an important competitive weapon and is very important to the organization because price multiplied by the number of units sold equals total revenue for the firm." (MKTG, Lamb, page 26)
"Consumers are interested in obtaining a reasonable price. Reasonable price really means perceived reasonable value at the time of the transaction." (MKTG, Lamb. page 261)
"Birthday Vodka" is an affordable drink for everyone. We have made the price reasonable so anyone can afford it and have the satisfaction to enjoy this drink. This doesn't necessarily mean it is a cheap vodka for lower class people. Once you taste the cake flavored vodka you will agree it is for anyone and everyone.
24 oz. bottle of Birthday Vodka $15.99
3 oz. shooter bottle of Birthday Vodka $2.49
SWOT Analysis
"A situation analysis is sometimes referred to as a SWOT analysis; the is, the firm should identify it's internal strengths and weaknesses and also examine external opportunities and threats." (MKTG, Lamb, page 19)
Strengths
Unique and tasty taste
Originality
Bottle made to stand out with it's colors
affordable price
Weakness
The price may be too low
People may only drink this on their birthday
After so many birthdays the trend may die off.
Opportunities
Being able to promote our product anywhere we get the opportunity to get. Advertising out product in different places. (Magazines and billboards)
Threats
There are many competitive vodka products out there in the business. Many products that have been in business for a long time.
Promotion
"Few goods or services, no matter how well developed, priced or distributed, can survive in the market place without effective promotion- communication by marketeers that informs, persuades, and reminds potential buyers of a product in order to influence their opinion or elicit a response." (MKTG, Lamb page 211)
To promote this product we have set up plan to get a free shooter bottle of Birthday Vodka. If you sign up with us on our site we will send you updates about our product. On your birthday we will send you a coupon for a free shooter bottle of vodka.
Also we have our product in liquor tasting venues to get out product out tasty product out there. We are hoping to spread our name in these venues. We want out name known so we can grow.
Target Market
"The marketing mix is, of course, under the firm's control and is designed to appeal to a specific group of potential buyers. A target market is a defined group that managers feel is most likely to buy a firms product." (MKTG, Lamb page 32)
This product is targeted towards everyone over the age of 21 with a birthday. So basically to say this drink is for everyone over the age of 21.

What my calssmates think about advertising vs. marketing
What my classmates think about advertising vs. marketing
Advertising vs. marketing. I have three classmates to discuss about advertising vs. marketing and what they think about the concept of the two. This is their words describing advertising vs. marketing and what they are to them.
“The best way to distinguish the difference between marketing and advertising is to say that marketing is like a recipe. You take a bunch of other ingredients together to make something. Advertising is like the milk in the cake batter. And the entire process of making the cake and then selling the cake afterwards is all marketing. Marketing is the big picture, as to advertising is part of marketing. They are not the same thing.” (Shane Hooper) I do agree with this statement Shane has written. He has made a good statement using his own words and way to describe what the two really are.
“Marketing takes place before products are ever developed or advertised. While advertising does utilize information gathered from marketing research, it’s the latter that dictates what products will hit the market and which ones will never see the light of day.” (Rodriguez, Melissa) This, I also agree with as well. She definitely knows what she is talking about. Especially when she says marketing takes place before products are developed.
“What is marketing? Marketing is the act or process of buying and selling in a market. And what is advertising? Advertising is the activity of attracting public attention to a product or business, as by paid announcements in the print, broadcast, or electronic media. Many would say that there one of the same, but they are not. In order to have a successful business you need both because they both work together for one common goal success.” (Reaze, Shantay M http://fashionistafyi.blogspot.com/) I do agree with Shantay. She is rite when she says they are not the same.

What is the diffrence between advertising and marketing?
What is the difference between marketing and advertising?
What is the difference between marketing and advertising? Is there a difference? Most people would say there is not a difference. Although you may think not, but there is a big difference in the two. Advertisers and marketers think very much differently. “A market-oriented firm defines its business in the terms of the benefits its customers seek” (MKTG, Lamb pg. 9). Marketers focus on what the customers wants and they satisfy what the needs of the customer are. Marketers care about their customers. As for advertisers, they are just trying to focus on selling the product. Advertisers don’t care too much in what the customer needs or to satisfy them. They just need to sell and make money. Advertising is to make everything look great and a winner to buy. Marketing is about taking care of customers. Marketing can make you come back for more and more. They want to continue to keep you satisfied and keep coming back to their product.

Week 3: How I buy stuff
There are a couple of ways I base my buying decision. one way I base my decision on is by my mother. I've got used to alot of items my mom uses. Since my mom always have bought those items and brand then they must be good to be using them that long. Why would I change all of a sudden now? For example my mom always bought Pantene hair products, so I got used too using that product so now I buy Pantene. Mostly every thing I buy is influenced by my mom. So I like sticking to her products.
I also base my decisions on by television. If something appears to look good on t.v. then I like to try it. Television always like to get you for their products. make-up ads and commercials always get me too. They always make me want to try their products as well as hair products.

Week 2 EOC: Me as the customer and what I buy
I am a 19 year old Hispanic young women. Being a girl plays a big role in what I buy. I have a lot of necessities that I need to buy. And certain items by just being me that I like to buy. By leeping up with my hygene ofcorse I need to buy soap, shampoo, conditioner, razors, toothpaste, and ect. And with every product I use I have to use certain brands of my choice. For my my make-up I use only Bare Minerals because to me that is what works best for me. Other examples I only use Pantene for my hair and salon products for my hair. I'm just that kind of person who chooses to do so. If it's not the brand I choose not to use it. So that means I have to spend a little bit extra then others have to spend.
Not only items for my keeping up with myself but other things such as laundry soap house cleaning products. All laundry soap is a must for me and so Windex and Mr. Clean products. I also, o only buy certain food for my dog, Cesar's dog food.
I am also the "sucker" customer. If I see something on television that seems pretty cool I want to buy it. I think I need every unnecessary item I see on t.v. I have no idea why? I just want them I guess. So I go ahead and try them out.
Also being a girl kind of a materialistic one sometimes I love to shop and get my nails done.

week 1 EOC. Quality customer experience
A time where I have had good quality customer experience was when I had went back to Arizona for mu cousin's funeral. We went to this resturant Garcias. It was the only place where we can think of to eat at the time of night and somthing we would all like. It was about 30 minutes untill closing. and there was nine of us too. We had just got back from my cousins funeral so we were all pretty down. It was about eleven o' clock p.m. we were all so tired, we had'nt had no sleep from driving since four a.m . The servers and hostess were so nice they did'nt mind us being there so late. There were so nice to us and gave us the best service we have ever had in a resturant. Not mad or no attitude about anything. They were more than happy to serve us. We didn't have to ask for more of anything they refilld our chips, salsa, and drinks with no qustions. They couldnt have been more than happy to serve whatever we wanted. They even came and had convorsations with us like they had known us forever. They made all of us feel right at home. We couldn't have been more comfortable. My cousin even spilled his soda all over the table and they had no attitude to clean it up. So super friendly. They got a great tip from us in the end. They made us feel so much better. We were very satisfied when we left the resturaunt.
