What is the difference between marketing and advertising?
What is the difference between marketing and advertising? Is there a difference? Most people would say there is not a difference. Although you may think not, but there is a big difference in the two. Advertisers and marketers think very much differently. “A market-oriented firm defines its business in the terms of the benefits its customers seek” (MKTG, Lamb pg. 9). Marketers focus on what the customers wants and they satisfy what the needs of the customer are. Marketers care about their customers. As for advertisers, they are just trying to focus on selling the product. Advertisers don’t care too much in what the customer needs or to satisfy them. They just need to sell and make money. Advertising is to make everything look great and a winner to buy. Marketing is about taking care of customers. Marketing can make you come back for more and more. They want to continue to keep you satisfied and keep coming back to their product.
